An aeroplane leaves an airport and flies due north at a speed of 1000 km per hour. At

1200km per hour. How far apart will be the two planes after 1 and half hours?

Step-by-step explanation:
Speed of 1st plane=1000km/hr.
Distance travelled by 1st plane in 3/2 hours=1000×3/2=1500km due north.
Now the speed of 2nd plane=1200km/hr.
Distance travelled by 2nd plane in 3/2 hours=1200×3/2=1800km due west.
Now if you draw a diagram for it taking airport as a point you get a right angled triangle.
Distance b/w them is the length of the hypothenuse...
So, d^2=1500^2+1800^2
Solving it further,
You get the distance as 2343 km.
