Answer: 750 km

Step-by-step explanation:

speed of north flying aeroplane=300 km/hr

speed of west flying aeroplane=400 km/hr

let distance of north flying aeroplane be 'a'(BC=a

distance of west  flying aeroplane be 'b'(AC=b)

time given= 1 1/2 hr

as plane are travelling north and west resp.

∴∠B=90

so distance b/w plane is AB=c

also ac²= bc²+ ab²

and, speed = distance/ time

therefore distance= speed *time

in the case of north flying plane

a=300*1.5

a= 450 km

in the case of west  flying plane

b= 400*1.5

b=600 km

now using pythagoras theorem

a²+b²=c²

c²= 600²+450²

c²=360000+202500

c=\sqrt{562500}

c=750 km

therefore distance b/w  the 2 planes is 750 km

hope it helps
