an aeroplane left 40 minutes late due to heavy rain and in order to reach its destination 1600 kilometre away it in time it had to increase its speed by 400 km per hour for its original speed find the original speed of the aeroplane ​

(1600/X)- (1600/(X+400)) = 40/60 hours

X<sup>2</sup> +400X - 960000 = 0

On solving,

X = -1200, 800.

Speed cannot be negative, So usual speed will be 800 km per hour.
