This motion has essentially formed a right angled triangle ABC. Where B=90° and AC is hypotenuse.
By Pythagoras Theorem it is clearly visible that the length AC is 500 m.
Now the plane moves vertically upward 1200 m upto another point D (say). So there is another right angled triangle ACD with AD as the hypotenuse.
Again, using the same Pythagoras Theorem, AD comes out to be 1300 m.
