Distance = (240 × 5) = 1200 km.

Speed = Distance/Time

Speed = 1200/(5/3) km/hr. [We can write 1

3

2

hours as 5/3 hours]

∴ Required speed = (1200×

5

3

) km/hr=720 km/hr.

An aeroplane travel a journey in 9 hrs with the speed of 1260 km/h. to complete the journey in 5 hrs ; find the increased speed to cover the distance

\color{grey}\underline{ \rm \large \: \: Given :- }

•Time taken by An aeroplane travel a journey = 9 hrs

• Speed of aeroplane = 1260 km/h.

\color{grey}\underline{ \rm \large \: \: To \: Find :- }

• The increased speed to cover the distance to complete the journey in 5 hrs

\color{grey}\underline{ \rm \large \: \: Formula  \: Used:- }

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf \star \: \: Speed =  \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf \star \: \:Distance =  Speed  \times Time

\color{grey}\underline{ \rm \large \: \: Step \:  By  \: Step  \: Solution:- }

Now , We know that ,

  • Speed = 1260 km/hrs
  • Time = 9 hrs

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \:Distance =  Speed  \times Time

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \:Distance =  1260  \times  9

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \:Distance =   11340 km

Now , Distance travelled by An aeroplane to travel a journey in 9 hrs with the speed of 1260 km/h is 11340 km

So , we know the distance .. now , let's Find the increased speed to cover the distance to complete the journey in 5 hrs

  • Distance = 11340 km
  • Time = 5 hrs

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \: Speed =  \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \: Speed =  \dfrac{11340 }{5}

\: \: \: \: \: \: \sf  :\Longrightarrow \: \: Speed =   \green{2268 \: km/hr}

\color{grey}\underline{ \rm \large \: \: Answer:- }

Required speed = 2268 km/hr
