- An Affidavit is a statement made by an individual to give his oath or confirmation made before a district magistrate or a solicitor.
- Usually, it is used in debt cases, divorce cases, land registration disputes and passport processes where a confirmation is made in front of a solicitor.
- Apart from this, an affidavit can be used for change in name, change in signature, educational loan etc where it acts as a proof document.
