An agent gets a monthly salary of Rs 2000 and 8% commission on the sales exceeding Rs 25000. If he wishes to earn Rs 6500 in a month, how much should be his sales for the month?

Given:

           Salary of the agent = 2000

           Commission on Sales = 8%

           Wish to earn = 6500

To Find:

           Sales of the month to earn 6500.

Solution:

For Earning 6500 in a month, he needs to get the commission of,

                      $Wish to earn - Salary = Commission$

                                      $6500 - 2000 = 4500$

The Commission should be 4500.

So,

                                               $8$% $* x = 4500$

                                              $\frac{8}{100} *x = 4500$

                                                      $x=4500*\frac{100}{8}$

                                                      $x= 562.5 * 100$

                                                      $x= 56250$

The Sales for the month should be Rs. 56,250. So that the agent can earn Rs. 6500
