Given data are:
Power of an air-conditioner = 3.2 kW = 3200 W
Since,
( 1 kW = 100 W )
Current of domestic electric circuit = 10 A
Voltage supplied = 220 V
As we know the formula for power is
Power = Voltage × Current
⇒ 3.2 = 220 × I
⇒ I = 14.54 A
As we can see that the required current to run an air-conditioner safely is 14.54 A. But the given supply of current by electric circuit is 10 A, which is less than 14.54 A. Therefore this air-conditioner can not run and if we on the switch, the fuse of main electric supply will blow off.
