An aircraft travelling at 600 km per hour accelelates stedly for 10 kilometre per hour per second taking the speed of sound is 1100 kilometre per hour at the aircraft alltitude how long it will take to reach the sound barrier

final velocity of aircraft (v) = 1100 km/h

initial velocity of aircraft (u)= 600 km /h

acceleration of aircraft (a)= 10 km / h /sec

let the time taken be  t seconds

using 1st equation of motion and keeping in mind the homogeneity of units

v = u + at

1100 = 600 + 10 *t

t= 500/10 = 50 seconds

v = u + a t
