An aircraft travelling at 600km/hr accelerate steadily at 10km/hr per second. Taking the speed of sound as 1100km/hr at the aircraft's altitude, how long will it take to reach the sound's barrier?

Answer:

V = U + at

1100 = 600 + 10 × t

1100 - 600 = 10t

              10t = 500

                 t =  500 / 10

                 t = 50 second
