An airplane accelerates down a runway at 3.20 m/s^2 for 32.8 s until is finally lifts off the ground. Determine the distance travelled before takeoff. ​

Distance travelled before takeoff

Given:-

a= 3.2 m/s²

t= 32.8 s

u= 0 (as it started from runway)

Solution:-

We know

According to Second Equation of Motion

That is

Position Time Relation

we have

s =ut +  \frac{1}{2} at^{2}

here

Substituting the Values

that is

s= 0×32.8+1/2×3.2×32.8²

s=1/2×3.2×1075.84

s=1/2×3442.68

s=1721.34

therefore the plane travelled a total distance of 1721.34 m
