Initial velocity, u = 270km/h or 75m/s

Final velocity, v = 0 km/h or 0m/s { because the plane comes to rest }

Distance covered, s = 1000m

We know,

➜ 2as = v² - u²

☛ 2×a×1000 = 0 - 75²

☛ 2000a = -5625

☛ a = -5625/2000

☛ a = -2.8125

Hence, The Retardation of the plane is 2.8125 m/s²
