compound A is aldehydes of structure shown in 1st figure.
as it is mentioned that, C11H8O cannot undergo aldol condensation. here you should understand that, present double bond gives aldehydes and present triple bond gives acid on ozonolysis . so, the product of ozonolysis is benzaldehyde and two moles of CHO-COOH forms.

CHO-COOH gives oxalic acid on oxidation with silver ions. hence, the second compound B is CHO-COOH
