let weight of metal be X

1 metal= X

2nd metal = 2x

3rd metal = 3x ( ratio)

1x+2X+3x = 72

6x = 72

x = 72/6

x=12 kg

1 metal = 12

2nd metal = 2×12= 24

3rd metal = 3×12 = 36

hence proportion is 12:24:36
