The mass of zinc in percentage is
40+32+ zinc =100
Zinc=100-72=28
Zinc percentage is 28%
In 1 kg zinc mass = 280grams

Let the zinc % be x.

Given, 40 + 32 + x = 100

               72 + x = 100

                    x = 100 - 72

                       = 28%

Given, Mass of zinc alloy = 1kg

Mass of zinc = % of zinc  * Mass of alloy

                      = 28/100 * 1

                     = 0.28kg.
