Copper = 30%

Nickel = 42%

30 + 42 + x = 100%

72 + x = 100%

x= 100-72

x= 28%.

Mass of zinc = % of zinc * mass of alloy

                      = 28 / 100 * 1
 
                      = 0.28 kg.
