Cu : Zn : Ni = 5 : 3 : 2
50kg Cu, 30 kg Zn and 20 kg Ni
New ratio 5:3:3
Clearly Zn and Ni are of same quantity
So 10kg of Ni must be added

let you add x kg of nickel
now you have 50 kg of Cu , 30kg of Zn and 20+x kg of Ni
now 50:30 : (20+x ) = 5:3:3
so 30:(20+x) = 3:3
20+x = 30
x = 10;
so you should add 10 kg of Ni

10kg! Currently there is 50 kg copper, 30 kg zinc and 20 kg nickel=100 kg of the alloy. By adding 10 kg nickel, the alloy weighs 110 kg now, with a ratio of 5:3:3(50 kg copper,30kg zinc and 30 kg nickel)

weight of copper = 11kg.
weight of zink = 19kg.
weight of nickel = 20kg.
Therefore , the total weight of alloy = 50kg.
then, 11+19+20 = 50kg
percentage of copper in alloy =
= 11×2 = 22%
percentage of zinc in alloy =
19 ×2 = 38%
percentage of nickel in alloy =
20 × 2 = 40%
weight of zink = 19kg.
weight of nickel = 20kg.
Therefore , the total weight of alloy = 50kg.
then, 11+19+20 = 50kg
percentage of copper in alloy =
= 11×2 = 22%
percentage of zinc in alloy =
19 ×2 = 38%
percentage of nickel in alloy =
20 × 2 = 40%
