Answer:

Here is your answer dear

Step-by-step explanation:

The weight of the copper is 4.5 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, the weight of the alloy = 8 kg

The ratio of zinc and copper = 7 : 9

The proportion of zinc in the alloy is

= 7/(7 + 9) = 7/16

and that of copper is

= 9/(7 + 9) = 9/16

∴ the weight of copper in the alloy is

= 8 × 9/16 = 4.5 kg

Remark:

Remark:In this type of problems, always try to find the proportions of the materials or ingredients as given in questions and then proceed in necessary way.

The composition of the alloy almost remains same except if is reacted with other elements or the temperature is high enough to vapourise the zinc because its boiling point is low around 907°C

It depends on your atmosphere, smelting conditions, other alloying elements, solid solubility of alloying elements, rate of heating, temperature .,etc.
