Answer: The Answer is Rs.456

Step-by-step explanation:

Given ,

Tin and Lead are in the ratio of 3:2

1Kg of tin = Rs.50

1Kg of lead = Rs.20

to find: cost of 12 kg alloy

=Tin : Lead

=3/5*12 : 2/5*12

=7.2 : 4.8

Tin (in KG)= 7.2KG

Lead(in KG)=4.8KG

Cost of tin=  50*7.2

                 =Rs. 360

Cost of lead= 20*4.8

                     =Rs.96

total cost of alloy = 360+96

                               =Rs. 456

Cost of 12 kg alloy will be Rs. 475.

Given - Ratio and cost of tin and lead

Find - Cost of 12 kg alloy

Solution - Let the amount of tin and lead in alloy be 3x and 2x.

3x + 2x = 12

5x = 12

x =  \frac{12}{5}

x = 2.5

Amount of tin = 3 \times 2.5

Amount of tin = 7.5 kg

Amount of lead = 2 \times 2.5

Amount of lead = 5 kg

Cost of total tin = cost per kg*amount

Cost of total tin = 50*7.5

Cost of total tin = Rs. 375

Cost of total lead = cost per kg*amount

Cost of total lead = 20*5

Cost of total lead = Rs. 100

Total cost = 375 + 100

Total cost = Rs. 475

Hence, 12 kg alloy will cost Rs. 475.
