Answer:

  • Weight of copper in the alloy is 7800 grams or 7.8 kg.

Given

  • An alloy of zinc and copper weighs 13 1/2 kg. If the ratio of zinc to copper is 2:3 in the alloy.

To find:

  • Find the weight of copper in the alloy in grams?

Solution:

\sf Weight  \: of  \: zinc  \: and \:  copper \:  in  \: an  \: alloy = 13 \dfrac{1}{2}

 \sf Ratio = 2:3

  • 2 + 3 = 5. So, Copper = 3/5

 \sf \rightarrow Weight \:  of  \: copper  \: in \:  the  \: alloy =  \dfrac{3}{5}  \times  \dfrac{26}{2}

  • By simplifying , We get :

 \bf \rightarrow \dfrac{3}{5}  \times  13

  • By dividing 3 by 5 , We get :

\bf \rightarrow0.6 \times  13

  • Multiply this.

\bf \rightarrow 7.8kg

 \sf{ \red{Hence, Weight  \: of  \: copper  \: in  \: the \:  alloy = 7.8kg}}

Given:-

  • An alloy of zinc and copper weight 13 1/2 kg if the ratio of zinc to copper is 2:3.

To Find:-

  • Find the weight of copper in the alloy in grams =?

Solution:-

Weight of zinc and copper in an alloy = \sf13\dfrac{1}{2}

Ratio = 2:3

 \sf \implies2 + 3 = 5   \ \: so \:copper \:  =  \frac{3}{5}   \\  \\  \sf  \:weight \: of \: copper \: in \: the \: alloy =  \frac{3}{5}  \times  \frac{26}{2}  \\  \\  \sf \implies \frac{3}{5}  \times 13 \\  \\  \sf \implies0.6  \times 13 = 7.8kg

Hence,weight of copper in the alloy = 7.8kg.
