an alpha particle and a proton are moving in a plane of paper in a region where there is uniform magnetic field (B) directed normal to the plane of the paper.if the two particles have a equal linear momentum,what will be the ratio of the radii of their trajectories in the field ?

the magnitude of the radius is given as

r = mv/qB = p/qB

so, for proton r1 = p1 / q1.B

and

for deuteron r2 = p2 / q2.B

thus, as p1 = p2 = p and

q1 = 2q2 = 2q

thus

r1/r2 = q2/q1 = 2q/q

so, the ratio of their radii is

 r1/r2 = 2

or  r1:r2 = 2:1

I hope u get that
