An alternator with synchronous reactance, Xs = 0.8 pu is connected to an infinite bus at rated voltage with its excitation emf adjusted to 1.3 pu. The alternator delivers an active power (P) of 0.5 pu. Neglect all the losses.
Determine the load angle, armature current (pu) and Power Factor.
The alternator is now made to operate with another value of excitation emf which results in the same value of active power (P)
and armature current. Under this condition, find the induced emf, Apparent Power (S) and Power Factor……………………(4)​
