QUESTION:

An amount is divided among A,B,C and D in the ratio 3:4:9:10 respectively. If the share of D is 3612 more than that of A,then what is the total amount of A and D together?

ANSWER:

6708 IS THE SUM AMOUNT OF A AND D TOGETHER

SOLUTION:

Let the amounts be 3x, 4x, 9x, 10x for A, B, C & D respectively.

Let the amounts be 3x, 4x, 9x, 10x for A, B, C & D respectively.Now,

ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION,

=> D's share- A's share= 3612 (given)

=> 10x - 3x = 3612

=> 7x = 3612

 =  > x =  \frac{3612}{7}

x = Rs 512

Now,

The sum of money held by A and D together

= 3x + 10x

=13x

So,

13x = 516*13

= 6708 rs
