complement = (4x)°. We know that if the sum of two angles is equal to 90° then the angles are said to be complementary. complement = (4 × 18)° = 72°.

Let's assume smaller angle be \sf x

so, ots complementary greater angle will be \sf \frac{5}{4} x

The angles are said to be complement when the measures of two angles add to 90°.

 \sf  \therefore \: x +  \frac{5x}{4}  = 90 \\  \\  \sf9x = 360 \\  \\ \sf \boxed{x = 40 \degree}

So, the complementary angle are

  • x = 40°
  • (5/4)x=50°
