Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

An angle is twice its supplementary angle.

To find:-

Find the measure of both the angles ?

Solution:-

Let the angle be

We know that

The sum of two angles is 180° then they are called Supplementary angles

The supplementary angle of X° = (180-X)°

Given that

The angle is twice its supplementary angle.

=>X° = 2 ( 180-X)°

=>X° = 2×180° -2X°

=>X° = 360° -2X°

=>X° + 2X° = 360°

=> 3X° = 360°

=>X ° = 360° / 3

=>X° = 120°

The angle = 120°

The supplementary angle = 180°-120° = 60°

Answer :-

The required angles for the given problem are 120° and 60°

Check:-

One angle = 120°

=>2×60°

=>Twice its supplementary angle

Verified the given relation.

Used formulae:-

  1. The sum of two angles is 180° then they are called Supplementary angles
  2. The supplementary angle of X° = (180-X)°
