An ant has a mass of approximately 4*10 to the power-3 grams and an elephant has a mass of approximately 8 metric tons.

A) How many ants does it take to have the same mass as the elephant?

B) An ant is 10 to the power -1 cm long if u put all the number of ants from your answer to part a in a line (front to back) how long would the line be?

Hint:- 1 kg=1000 grams, 1 metric ton= 1000 kg, 1 meter= 100cm, 1 km= 1000m

A) mass of 1 elephant / mass of 1 ant = numbers of ants

                                                            = 8*10^6/4*10^-3

                                                            = 2*10^9 ants

B) length of line made by 2*10^9 ants = 2*10^9*10^-1 cm

                                                               = 2*10^8 cm

                                                               = 2000 km
