An ant has six legs, a spider has eight legs and a mouse has four legs.

In my zoo, I recently counted 612 legs which came from an equal number of each of these animals.

Can you identify how many animals there are in my zoo?

if i had 1 ant, 1 spider and 1 mouse, total legs = 6+8+4 = 18
Let i have x number of animal of each type.
So total legs = 18×x = 18x
18x = 612
⇒ x = 612/18
⇒ x = 34

Total animals = 3x = 3×34 = 102
