An ant travels a distance of 12 cm from A to B and then ttavels a distance of 9cm at right angle to AB. Find the total distance and displacement covered by body.

              = 21 cm

displacement is the shortest length between the initial and final points.

It can be found using the pythogoras theorem.

displacement = √12² + 9²
