Here's ur answer ..

Firstly an ant travels a distance PQ( 8cm ) and then travelled ( 6cm ) from perpendicular direction of PQ.

Displacement :- Shortest distance travelled by an object.

Here, Shortest distance of an ant is hypotenuse(PR) of triangle ∆PQR.

As per Pythagoras Theorem..,

PR² = PQ² + QR²

PR² = 8² + 6²

PR² = 64 + 36

PR = √100.

PR = 10

So, Shortest distance is 10cm.

Hence displacement of an ant is 10cm.

Thanks !
