An ant travels a distance of 8 cm from P to Q and then moves a distance of 6 cm at right angles to PQ. Find the resultant dispalcement.

make triangle of base 6 and 8 cm so displacement =√(6^2+8^2). =10cm Ans

the resultant displacement is --

cos 90° = 0
 \sqrt{ {8}^{2} + {6}^{2} + 2 \times 6 \times 8 \cos(90) } \\ = \sqrt{64 + 36} = \sqrt{100} = 10m
