Since the ant traveled a perpendicular distance , so the shortest distance will be displacement
Now by applying pythagoras theorm we get,
displacement square= 8*8 + 6*6
= 64+36
= 100
therefore displacement = 10 m
And distance = 8+6 = 14 m
