An ant travels a distance of 8cm from P to Q and then moves a distance of 6 cm at right angles to PQ. Find it's resultant displacement.​

The ant travels a distance of 8 cm in a straight line from p to q and then moves 6 cm perpendicularly to the line pq. ... Hence, the displacement of the ant = √100 = 10 cm, which is the longest side of a triangle.
