an antacid tablet is taken when you suffer from acidity.give reason?

an antacid is a anti-acid which act as a base. so whenever acidity is happen ,then the accumulation of acid in our stomach is increased,so to nutrilise the excess acid ,antacid is used .being a base it nuetrilise the acid and give relief at all.
