♠ PROCEDURE :-

An apparatus containing a flask which was made air tight by Cork and KOH was hung in a test tube. A bent tube was joined to a beaker containing water.

♠ OBSERVATION:-

After some hours a steady rise of water level was observed in the tube connected with water beaker.

♠ CONCLUSION:-

This happened because the CO2 which was released by the germinating seeds was absorbed by KOH. This created a vassum in the flask and to fill that empty space water in the beaker started to rise in the tube.

This activity proves the respiration by germinating seeds.
