The force acting on the Apple is the gravitational force which is equal to "mg"
where m is the mass of an object and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

an Apple is falling. the forces that act on the Apple are-
1)force of gravity by the earth acting downwards towards the earth surface. the force of gravity is the force with which the earth attracts a body towards itself. this force is equal to the weight of the apple.the acceleration produce due to this force is called acceleration due to gravity.
2)the force of friction acting on the Apple by the air. this force offers resistance to the motion of the Apple but the effect is negligible.
