Given :

Potential energy = 185J

Mass of apple = 200g = 0.2kg

Acc. due to gravity = 10m/s²

To Find :

Height of apple from the ground.

Solution :

★ Potential energy is the energy which is possessed by a body by virtue of its position.

  • It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.
  • It is measured with respect to reference point.
  • At reference point, it is taken zero.
  • SI unit : J

Potential energy of body of mass at a height of h is given by

  • U = m × g × H

By substituting the given values;

➠ U = m × g × H

➠ 185 = 0.2 × 10 × H

➠ 185 = 2H

➠ H = 185/2

H = 92.5 m

Given :

Potential energy = 185J

Mass of apple = 200g = 0.2kg

Acc. due to gravity = 10m/s²

To Find :

Height of apple from the ground.

Solution :

★ Potential energy is the energy which is possessed by a body by virtue of its position.

It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.

It is measured with respect to reference point..

At reference point, it is taken zero.

SI unit : J

Potential energy of body of mass at a height of h is given by

U = m × g × H

By substituting the given values;

➠ U = m × g × H

➠ 185 = 0.2 × 10 × H

➠ 185 = 2H

➠ H = 185/2

➠ H = 92.5 m
