because ammonia is a weak base and chlorine is a strong acid. so it is acidic.
whereas sodium is a strong base and chloride is a strong acid. so it is neutral.

Its because hydrochloric acid is stronger than ammonia whereas sodium hydroxide and hydrocloric acid are both strong. They cancel each others property that’s why it is neutral.
