Explaination for aqueous solution of  CuSo_4 is acidic while that of Na_2So_4 is neutral.

  • The Na_2So_4 which is commonly termed as Sodium Sulphate, is considered as neutral because it is a combination of strong acid and strong base, SO_4 and Na_2 respectively.
  • The compound which will be having a mixture of strong acid-strong base will be having the result to form a neutral salt.
  • But when the compound which will be having a combination of the mixture of strong acid-weak base will result in the formation of an acidic salt.
  • The CuSO_4, which is commonly termed as Copper Sulphate, is considered as acidic due to the presence of the strong acid-weak base combination, SO_4 and Cu respectively.
