An aqueous solution of metal nitrate ‘P’ reacts with sodium bromide solution to form yellow ppt of compound ‘Q’ which is used in photography. ‘Q’ on exposure to sunlight undergoes decomposition reaction to form metal present in ‘P’ along with reddish brown gas.
