A circle is a geometric figure,

more precisely , the locus of a point at a fixed distance around a fixed point called the centre... and the fixed distance is called : radius;

now ,

arcs are specific lengths of the circumfrence of the circle...

arclength = radius x angle made by radius vector with reference line (in radians)

[ l = r Θ ]

for circumfrence of circle ... angle made = 2\pi radians;

therefore subs. in formula ;

we get

circ. = r x 2\pi
