an army group of 308 members is to march behind an army band of 24 members in a parade. the two groups are to march in the same number of columns what is the maximum number of columns in which they can march ?

We have to find the H.C.F of the two numbers to find the maximum number of columns in which they can march. So,

308 =2×2×7×11
24. = 2×2×2×3

HCF= 2×2
=4

There fore the HCF (308,24) = 4


The maximum number of columns are 4 in which they can march.
