The number of men left is 420.

•Given data :

Initially the total men was 2100

They have provision for 50 days

Men left after 10 days

Now, remaining men also have provision for 50 days

• Now,

So,the remaining number of days for the initial number of men is

= (50-10) = 40 days

• Let, the number of men left = x (assume x as a variable to calculate the number of men left due to injuries)

• So,the number of remaining men = 2100-x

• Now,If the men didn't left

Then, 50 days food was for = 2100 men

1 day food was for = 2100/50 men

40 days food was for = 2100×40/50 = 1680 men

Now,the 40 days for initial men is 50 days reduced amount of men.

So,

2100-x=1680

-x = 1680-2100

-x = -420

x = 420

So,total 420 men left the army (answer)
