ANSWER

Speed = distance/time

Distance = 600km

Time = 20 mins

Speed = 600km/20min = 30km/min (read as 30 killometer per min means, in 1 min the aeroplane will cover a distance of 30 km)

To calculate speed in km/hour

Convert time in hours

1 hour = 60 min

Or 1 min = 1hour/60

Therefore 20 minutes = 20 * ( 1 hour /60)

= 1 hour/3

Speed (in km/hr) = 600km/ (1 hour/3)

To bring the dividing term into multiplication, we take it's reciprocal and use multiply sign instead if divide

Means

Speed = 600km * 3/1 hour

= 1800 km/hour

Or

Earlier we have a speed of 30km per min

In 1 min it will cover 30 km

In an hour or 60 min it will cover a distance of = 30*60 km = 1800

Again speed is 1800 km per hour (Ans)
