The run for unity is organised to encourage indians to run in tribute to Sardar Vallahbhai Patel. It is being organised in various parts of country Wednesday to commemorate the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallahbhai Patel, even as the statue of unity, the world's tallest statue, was unveiled in Gujarat. Home minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the run in the national capital. "Post our freedom movement, Sardar Patel worked hard to get more than 550 princely states together to make India one. Its only right that we remember him today," ANI quoted her as saying.
