Given :  An article is marked at 15000. A dealer sells it to a consumer at 10% profit. If the rate  of GST is 12%

To Find :   the selling price (excluding tax) of the article.

the amount of tax (under GST) paid by the consumer.

the total amount paid by the consumer.

Solution:

article is marked at 15000   Rs

profit = 10 %

Profit = (10/100) * 15000 = Rs 1500

Selling price (excluding tax) of the article. = 15000 + 1500 = Rs 16500

GST is 12%

GST = (12/100) * 16500 =  Rs 1980

amount of tax (under GST) paid by the consumer.  =  Rs 1980

total amount paid by the consumer. = 16500 + 1980

= Rs 18480

the total amount paid by the consumer. = Rs 18480
