An article marked at 12,800 is sold for 10,240. Find the discount per cent
If the profit per cent on the article is 60%, find the cost price

Answer:

i) marked price (m.p) = Rs12800

selling price (s.p) = Rs 10240

discount (d) = m.p-s.p

= Rs 12800 - Rs 10240

= Rs 2560

 Discount = \frac{d}{m.p} \times 100\\=\frac{2560}{12800}\times 100\\=20\%

ii) s.p = Rs 10240

profit (g) = 60%

cost\: price = \frac{s.p \times 100}{100+g}\\=\frac{10240 \times 100}{100+60}\\=\frac{10240 \times 100}{160}\\=Rs \:6400
