An article was purchased for 1239 including GST of 18%. Find the price of the article before GST was added?

Answer:

cost of article = 1239

let the price of the article excluding GST be = x

by adding GST = x+18/100= 118x/100

118x/100 = 1239

1239×100/118 = 1050
