An article when sold for rs 840 earns a profit whivh is double the amount of loss when the same article is sold for Rs 600. What is the C.P of the article

Gain = sp - cp
Loss = cp - sp

Then,
840 - cp = 2(cp - 600).
840 - cp = 2cp - 1200.
3cp = 1200 + 840.
CP = 2040/3 = 680.
