Explanation:

distance covered by the satellite. in 24hours= 2πr

= 2*3.14*4200

= 2637

Therefore speed of satellite

v= distance travelled by satellite

time taken

2637

________ = 0.0305 km /s

24*60*60

Given :-

Radius of an artificial planet is moving in a circular orbit = 4200 km

Tike taken to revolve earth = 24 hours

To Find :-

The speed required.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • c = Circumference
  • s = Speed
  • r = Radius
  • d = Distance
  • t = Time

Using the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Circumference \ of \ a  \ circle=2 \pi r}}

Given that,

Radius (r) = 4200 km

Substituting their values,

= 2 × 3.14 × 42250

= 265464.58 km

Using the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Speed=\dfrac{Distance \ travelled}{Time \ taken} }}

Given that,

Distance travelled (d) = 265464.58 km

Time taken (t) = 24 × 60 × 60

Substituting their values,

s = 265464.58/24 × 60 × 60

s = 265464.58/86400

s = 3.07 km s⁻¹

Therefore, the speed required is 3.07 km s⁻¹.
