Question : An artificial satellite is moving in a circular orbit of radius 42250 km. calculate its speed if it takes 24 hours to revolve around the Earth?

Answer :

Radius Of the orbit : 42250 km ( Given )

The Distance that is covered in one revolution : 2πr

( Circumference of The Orbit )

= 2 ×\frac{22}{7}× 42250

= 265571.43 km.

Time taken in one revolution = 24 h, One day.

Therefore, Speed of satellite = \frac{Distance}{Time}

= \frac{265571.43}{24}

= 11065.48 km/h.

The formula for speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

The formula for distance = Speed × Time
